Our approach to sustainability – flowers that delight both you and nature

Our Approach to Sustainability and the Environment

Sustainability for us is not just a trend, but a way of thinking about the world around us. We believe that even small steps matter, which is why we look for ways to protect nature both in our daily work and at home.

Flowers and Their Origin

We prefer local growers and flowers cultivated 100% CO₂-neutrally, even if their price is higher.
We use our own crops – in our bouquets you can find cherry laurel, genista, lavender, blackberry, or in funeral arrangements, thuja from our own garden.
Imports from the Netherlands are provided by specialized companies that transport flowers for multiple retailers. This helps minimize the carbon footprint.
We use only recyclable packaging.
Floristry aids (e.g., floral foam, plastic supports) are used in minimal amounts.

Running the Flower Shop

Energy saving – we switched to LED lighting, improved delivery logistics, and reduced the use of cooling boxes. We also lowered the temperature in the shop by 2 °C.
Waste sorting – paper, plastics, glass. Organic waste is taken to a composting facility. Flowers with a shorter lifespan are sold at a discount instead of being thrown away.
Vases – we replace plastic with ceramic and glass ones.
Water saving – we put less water in vases and use antibacterial agents that keep it fresh longer.

Flower Delivery – Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

We cooperate with courier services that deliver multiple orders at once.
Within 2 km we deliver on foot.
Fleet modernization – diesel vehicles have been replaced with petrol ones, and in the future we will switch to electric cars.
Public transport – when delivering to city centers, we often use trams, which are faster and more eco-friendly than cars.

Company Headquarters and Energy Efficiency

Heating – we use a heat pump, insulation, and wood-gas stoves. Electricity consumption has dropped from 18 MWh to 8 MWh per year.
Cooling in summer – no air conditioning is needed thanks to insulation and trees planted to shade the western side of the house.
Water – for watering, we use rainwater; the excess soaks naturally into the ground.

Social Impact

By supporting local growers, we contribute to the development of Czech agriculture and local communities. Our goal is also to educate the public and show that even floristry can be environmentally friendly.

Tips for Customers – How to Extend the Life of Flowers and Save Nature

  • Trim the stems and change the water regularly.
  • Place the bouquet in a cooler room – it will last longer.
  • Use a smaller amount of water – it is important that the stems are submerged, not the whole flowers.
  • After blooming, put plant waste into bio-waste or compost.

Conclusion

Our path to sustainability is not about grand gestures but about everyday small steps that together make a big difference. We believe that flowers can bring joy without burdening nature, which is why we look for ways to grow, arrange, and deliver them more responsibly.

Support our effort for a more sustainable world – choose a bouquet that brings joy both to you and to nature. 🌿 With your order, you not only spread happiness to your loved ones but also help protect the environment and support responsible growers.

Together, we can show that even flowers have their “green path.”
